Neurodivergent-Affirming Therapy
Neurodivergent-Affirming Therapy
Some people come to therapy knowing they are neurodivergent. Others arrive feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, misunderstood, or wondering why things that seem manageable for others feel so difficult.
Neurodivergence can influence how we think, process information, communicate, experience emotions, relate to others, manage energy, respond to sensory input, organize our lives, recover from demands, and move through the world.
For many people, years of trying harder, masking, compensating, and adapting can lead to burnout, shame, self-doubt, and the belief that something is wrong with them.
My approach is collaborative, neurodivergent-affirming, and grounded in curiosity rather than shame.
I am trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and often work through a lens that explores not only symptoms or behaviors but also the internal experiences underneath them. Rather than assuming there is one right way to function, communicate, process, or exist, therapy may focus on understanding your patterns, reducing shame, and building a life that works with your brain and nervous system rather than against them.
Therapy may include exploring identity, masking, burnout, executive functioning, sensory experiences, emotional intensity, relationships, boundaries, self-worth, communication differences, nervous system responses, and developing ways of living that feel more sustainable and authentic.
I work with adults across a wide range of neurodivergent experiences, including those who are formally diagnosed, self-identifying, exploring questions about neurodivergence, or simply wanting support that feels less pathologizing and more collaborative.
I provide virtual therapy for adults throughout California.
If you are looking for support that balances accountability with compassion and curiosity, you can schedule a consultation.
