Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy & Consultation

For adults, therapists, and neurodivergent clients across California and Michigan.

Life can be overwhelming, confusing, and lonely. ,Therapy can help you better understand yourself, not by fixing who you are, but by getting curious about patterns, emotions, and protective strategies that helped you survive. Together we work toward greater freedom, self-understanding, and connection.

IFS is a transformative, evidence-based psychotherapy that helps people heal, access, and love their protective and wounded inner parts. We believe the mind is naturally multiple — and that is a good thing. By helping people access their Core Self, and from this come to understand and heal their parts, IFS creates connectedness internally with Self and externally with the surrounding world.

Lisa Giles, LMFT

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist trained Internal Family Systems (IFS). IFS is not just a modality, it’s a new paradigm of living. It’s a different way of seeing ourselves, others, and the world around us — and can be used to help everyone, regardless if one has a mental health diagnosis or not. Therefore, I see clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, anger, addiction, OCD, Borderline, relationship struggles, and other issues.

I am also certified in Gottman Couples Therapy, which can be used with IFS when treating couples. I have completed a wide range of other training in other modalities including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and somatic experience.

However, I primarily use the IFS model as I believe it is the most helpful and effective, and it is where I am most skilled.

I love the quote below by my L2 trainer Frank Anderson, as even though it is short and simple I believe it says a lot about IFS Therapy.
